Bugs related to the Cayo Perico Heist DLC:
Not being able to join friends / error message displaying prompt declaring a certain player hasn’t finished the GTA Online tutorial.
Not being able to deliver various pieces of heist equipment to the Kosatka during missions.
During the Plasma Cutters mission, taking a picture of the heist prep board in the safe house won’t register and you can’t send it too Pavel to progress the mission.
During the RO-86 Alkonost Plane delivery mission and the Velum delivery mission, the delivery checkpoint will be stationed at the casino, either the garage, front door, or music locker enterances will be highlighted.
During the Longfin boat delivery mission the delivery checkpoint will not register the Longfin once it has reached it destination.
When poisoning the water tower on Cayo Perico, players have reported either themselves or other players dying randomly.
When hacking into El Rubio’s compound, players have reported being stuck on a static as the game loads the cameras in the compound.
When quitting GTA Online after doing a Cayo Perico Heist mission prep, the game won’t save your last prep, requiring you to do it again.
The Cayo Perico primary target value will sometimes not display correctly and there as issue the incorrect amount of money for stealing the primary target on hard mode.
In the Cayo Perico heist finale, selecting the drainage point as your entrance into the compound won’t register correctly on your map, with the highlighted icon being the main entrance rather than the back.
All of the Pariah’s spoilers won’t display visually for any player.
When using the track pad to open the interaction menu on the PS5, the game soft locks you out of using your interaction menu again.
When escaping the compound, sometimes the boats at both the main dock and north dock won’t spawn.
Killing the juggernuat may cause the alarms to go off in the compound, even if done stealthy.
Both the Tom Conners missions and the English Dave missions sometimes bug up and don't allow you to deliver an objective to the yellow circle.
When entering the compound, plyers are reporting disconnects, either the host of the heist leaves the game or another team member will leave randomly.
When leaving the compound, the game will not give you a way to escape, leaving you softlocked in the compound.
In the heist finale screen, platers report not being able to buy a heist support crew.
When completing the Cayo Peico heist, players report that they discount from the game as soon as the heist is finished, leaving them without their payment.
Some players report that the payouts are incorrect when being divided out to players, as an example, a 30/70 payout will change to a 15/85 payout when the heist ends.
Some players report losing their payout as soon a they reset the game.

During the scope-out mission for Cayo Perico, players report the supply truck not spawning in.
When collecting the Chakra Stones for English Dave, collecting all he stones will not prompt the next mission objective.
When trying to obtain the safe codes from the head of security the casino penthouse, players report the main target not spawning, effectivly softlocking the player in the penthouse.
"Invisible guards" patrol the compound after you rob it, resulting in your player character getting caught.
Guards will sometimes not show up on the radar when on the Cayo Perico heist finale.
Players report different weapon loadouts, entry points, and exit points on the final heist rather than what they choose on the finale screen.
Players report that when entering the drainage pipe and surfacing into the compound, the game breaks stealth and puts you into combat.
The Madrazo files will sometimes get replaced with an entirely different target all together on a first run of the Cayo Perico heist.
Delivering anything to the Music Locker will sometimes not work.
Bugs related to the Casino Heist DLC and GTA Online Broadly:
Cannot deliver heist prep equipment: The vehicle will enter the yellow circle and nothing will happen.
Cannot deliver product from businesses: The drop/delivery won't register, or you enter the delivery circle and it won't register.
Cannot deliver Business Battle goods: Will not register when entering the yellow circle.
Falling through the map.
Getting stuck in the man trap or spawning under the map during the Casino Heist, or being disconnected.
Oppressor MKI, or any car floating in the air.
Flying over the water and respawning on the beach.
Changing lobbies but being put back into the same one.
Not receiving Elite bonuses after completing the Casino Heist.
Starting a Casino Heist and having no objective point on the map, causing players to have to leave the lobby.
Having to setup the Arcade again after previously doing the setup mission.
Vehicles/aircraft not spawning after being requested either from the mechanic, Ms. Baker, or through the interaction menu.
Nightclub technicians will stop producing certain products.
Certain vehicles losing their resistance to rockets/explosives. MOC, Avenger, etc...
Infinite loading screens
White screening during the Casino Heist end screens.
Heist cuts not being properly distributed after completing Heists.
Casino Heist being stuck once you leave the arcade: Can't move, etc...
Rewards in Arena Wars, or other jobs, not being properly calculated for the person in first place.
Trade prices not unlocking after completing the Casino Heist.
When searching for a casino heist through quick job in your cellphone, there's a chance it bugs out and upon joining the room, you're unable to see the finale board where you'd normally see the percentages and ready status.
On silent and sneaky, there's a chance the guards that are supposed to be moving around and patrolling stand completely still. This is both helpful and annoying in different parts of the heist and if you haven't got duggan shipments completed, you're pretty much fucked or forced to get creative.
On Big Con, sometimes the exit disguises don't spawn even though the run was done completely undetected (I've experienced this with gruppe sechs entry).
When collecting daily vault, sometimes it might happen that you get stuck in the animation without being able to stop.
The stockade sometimes spawns in the wrong arcade.
Getting stuck in an endless dancing loop during the Casino Heist setup for the level 2 keycards.
Incorrect getaway vehicles will spawn for the Casino Heist.
In Sumo(Remix) the wrong team will be awarded the win.
Mechanic will sometimes not spawn and the player will not be able to modify their vehicles.

Dying during the explosives prep mission for the Casino heist can lead to a long, or infinite respawn.
During the Prison Break Heist Rashkovsky will not move, be invisible, or die after parachuting from the plane at the end of the Heist.

Just another lame post on stuff I would had love to see in CP2077, day dreaming.
I wrote this down earlier today while I was sitting around the house today as I wanted to jolt my thoughts down and I wanted to share. Nothing really to come out of it, just wanted to express what I think would had made CP2077 an even better game: · Transportation Full Subway system for night city. Multiple stops throughout Night City where you enter from the train station, and the trains are on a fix schedule to arrive at each once every hour and you can watch the scenery or you can choose to skip waiting and enter a cut scene that shows the train bringing you to your destination. Self-driving cars / taxi services. Sit back and relax and again, view the nice sceneries of NC or press a button to execute a skip to your destination. Both transportations costing a small amount of money for V. · Romance Options Although Judy, Panam, River, etc make for great romance options due how well we get to know these characters, it would be great to implement an option to romance random NPCs. i.e You go to a baclub in NC and you can chat up a NPC and that NPC has a been added to your list of contacts (Think Yakuza, or GTA). Now you can contact that NPC to meet you any time outside of missions and you can do some activities together, which brings me to my next section… · Activities Activities outside of missions/gigs around the city to keep V busy when he’s not only trying to make money but also trying to spend it. This would include the following… · Underground fight clubs that meet up twice a week. Bare knuckle boxing, endless. · Casinos, small (hidden and secretive) and big – for V to make some cash (or lose it). · Arcades / Arcade center. Generic games to pass the time in. · Netrunner card game – self-explanatory. · Drinking/Drugs inside clubs/bars where V doesn’t get wasted after 1 drink. · Concerts and shows to play music at club venues by NC artists. · Eating/Drinking animations at food stands · Ability to sit on any chair in the game world outside of missions or your apartment (i.e like sitting on a bench people watching). · Customization; tattoos, cars, body mods, animation on getting cyberware, apartment. · More streetwalkers. · Just Things for the Hopeful… · 3rd person view. · More options for dialogue choices with random NPCs passing by. · NC gets dark earlier or time goes slower during the night hours. · Gang faction points. · A ton of braindances, small and large to explore, some light and some super disturbing. Although I’m sure CP2077 was never meant to be some kind of life sim, it is fun to think what kind of immersion could have really brought the world of CP2077 to life. When walking through Night City, it’s all I ever think about. The city is gorgeous. I love everything about the look of it but it always feels like something is missing. I do enjoy the current state of the game to be honest and I’ve beaten it and it’s fun to come back to here and there in rotation with other games I’m playing right now but there is always this itch that isn’t being scratched with its current state. The bugs have never really bothered me much (I’m sure a lot of you would disagree, and say that the bugs are really bad) I think the core of this game, if it had a lot more features, a lot of us would be able to look past the bugs a bit more. I know most of these things will probably never come into fruition but it’s fun to think about and I’m sure some company will capitalize on the cyberpunk theme sometime down the road and try to do everything CP2077 did wrong – right. But only time will tell.

Phase 1 So, you've spawned into GTA Online for the first time. After completing the tutorial, the first thing you want to do is to open up these links and complete those missions (including the weapon challenges) as this will get you $500,000. While you do these missions, keep an eye out for a call from Lester, as you need to take that call for the next phase. https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Treasure_Hunthttps://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Bounty_Target Phase 2 Once you have all that money, you're gonna want to open up the internet app on your phone and head to 'www.dynasty8realestate.com' in the 'MONEY AND SERVICES' section. Click on 'VIEW PROPERTY LISTINGS' and scroll down to Del Perro Heights, Apt 7 for $200,000 and buy it. At this point, you probably have received a call from Lester. If so, proceed to the green 'L' on the map. Once you meet Lester, a green 'H' will appear in your new apartment. Go there to start a heist. Proceed to do all the heists in order on hard mode. This will be easier with friends and searching up detailed guides can make them a lot easier. I would also recommend buying and using the Karin Kuruma (Armoured) on www.southernsanandreassuperautos.com after you complete the Fleeca Job. This is the hardest phase, but it is well worth the rewards. Phase 3+ Once you complete all of the heists in order on hard mode, you should have well over $2,000,000 in your account. Head to The Music Locker, an underground club in the Casino. Here you will meet Miguel Madrazo who will tell you about another heist. Once you have finished that, buy the submarine that he mentioned. Once you buy it, it should show on the map and if not, you can spawn it by pressing 'M' and heading to Services->Kosatka->Request Kosatka. You now have access to the Cayo Perico heist, which is the current meta for making money. Do these heists repeatedly and you can get over $1,000,000 every hour. You can also complete them solo. Again, searching for detailed guides for the heist can be useful till you get used to it. Personally, I use the Kosatka Approach Vehicle and use the drainage tunnel to go straight into the compound, full stealth. The great thing about this heist is that you can do it in a wide variety of ways, so there's a method for any play style. The first purchase you should make after the Cayo Perico Heist is the Sparrow, as it can be spawned at any time, anywhere through the interaction menu. This will make heist setups significantly faster and easier. After this, you can kinda buy anything. If you want to become good at PvP, buy the weapon workshop in your submarine and invest in vehicles like the Nightshark for safe travel and the Oppressor MK2 if you really want to be an asshole. You can also expand into passive businesses that will make money without you doing any work. If this is the case, buy them in this order; Bunker, Cocaine, Meth, Weed, Cash, Nightclub. With all of these businesses, make sure to fully upgrade them first and always buy supplies instead of stealing them. Some other fun things you can do are the Casino and Doomsday heists, but by now you probably know what you want to do. Have fun!
Hello everyone, happy new year! With recent release of Cayo Perico but not much else I wanted to touch base with the community holding out for GTA Online in Liberty City or Vice City, and debrief from the Cayo Perico DLC. Even though Cayo Perico came out unexpectedly (to us), it is a small but welcome addition to the GTA Online world. I believe that we still have reason to cling onto hope that that Liberty City will sooner rather than later, and Cayo Perico is a stepping stone to that demonstrating the map expansions are possible. While I no longer think that we will see a remastered city come this generation of console, but we still have GTA V "Expanded and Enhanced" coming in 2021 which may have much more than just GTA V itself.
Reasons why I think that GTA V "Expanded and Enhanced" is more than just GTA V with updated graphics
GTA V XB1 & PS4 versions already work fine in XBSX/XBSS/PS5. It looks and runs great, similar to a PC level of detail/performance. Why would a significant update be needed if it will be much the same if they didn't have big plans on top of that?
Cayo Perico proves that Rockstar's idea of "Expanded" can mean land expansion
Cayo Perico sounds like it was more a like a side project during COVID-19 WFH than something in the works for a long time. It is not unreasonable to think that Rockstar, with all their global studios now merged together, haven't been working on something big since the bulk of RDR2 was finished.
Why are they being so vague about the details, even to go as far as using a PS3 trailer for it... are they doing this because they are hiding something? Even being so far to be anticlimactic to take off the pressure from fans, and surprise us later.
What Cyberpunk 2077 has taught the overall gaming community lately is what happens when you overpromise and underdeliver. However Rockstar already learnt this lesson back in 2015 when they promised Heists in GTA Online, which kept being reworked and delayed until near the end of the PS3/360 generation and copped a lot of criticism for it. Basically every social media comment was "Where are the Heists", fans were frustrated. From that time onwards they never released details until about 2 weeks out from launch for a DLC. RDR2 was a bit longer, but only because they had other partners to consider. For this they originally gave it 1 year from announcement to release date, but it was delayed to 2 years, with PC one more year after that (which also wasn't even announced until one month before that). Here is a quote about what went wrong with Heists:
We aren’t ready to give an official release date yet, but we are confident they will be ready early in 2015. As you may have read on IGN, Heists were a much bigger challenge to create than we had originally anticipated. Early versions were simply not good enough and had to be scrapped more than once as we honed in on how we thought they should work. We’re happy to say that the pack we are now finalizing is something we are excited by and eager to release as soon as it is ready. We, as a company, have always been about trying to make something that is good rather than hitting a date. We apologize when this gets frustrating but firmly believe that rushing out second-rate content does not do anyone any favors. Hopefully you agree that yesterday’s new Trailer is a sign that Heists are shaping up nicely, but we still need some time to fine tune them. Because we need a little time to get Heists right, we are going to give you a small Christmas gift to keep you entertained until we are done with them.
Reasons why I think something related to Liberty City is most likely to be the next major GTA Online expansion to come
GTA IV & EFLC is highly regarded as a masterpiece, it's fanbase is still strong - many still prefer it to GTA V for a variety reasons, so it is a good candidate for a remaster. They can always make the GTA IV car physics, ragdoll, etc. come back again, perhaps as a user configurable option. Having the map there is the gateway to bringing these highly valued games back to a new generation.
The availability of GTA IV is terrible. It is only a Backwards Compatibility title on Xbox One (non Enhanced), runs like rubbish on PC - performance wise (and multiplayer is now removed), and the PS4 & PS5 doesn't have it at all. Most other GTAs are available for purchase, at least on Mobile.
GTA V is now 7 years old and the GTA fanbase is now bigger than ever thanks to GTA V & Online. A lot of new fans haven't had the opportunity to experience GTA IV because of the above availability issue. The new fans are desperate for a new (to them) GTA game, especially since it doesn't look like GTA6 is coming any time soon. Or maybe I'm wrong and 6 is coming soon as well?
GTA Online is progressively getting new content referencing to Liberty City or content ported from Liberty City (i.e The Tugboat, QUB3D), so they are not above re-using GTA IV assets or dropping hints.
It is clear that they have been taking the "lazy" route as far as making new content for GTA Online DLCs by re-using existing assets. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of work involved, but still it is less work than starting from scratch.
But it would make sense that they will continue their more recent M.O. to re-use existing assets rather than start from scratch to save time, effort and cost.
Porting the Liberty City map to GTA V engine can't be that difficult, given that even PC Modders have already been able to do it unofficially (FiveM/OpenIV), so just imagine what Rockstar can do when doing it properly.
There were only about 10 multiplayer modes in GTA IV Multiplayer, it wouldn't be hard to bring those back to GTA Online game modes to recreate that missing experience.
With high profile departures of the writers such as Leslie Benzies, Dan Houser & Lazlow there is no doubt going to be a brain drain. I'm sure they were working on stuff before their departures, and I'm sure that RockstaTake-Two with all their billions of dollars will be able to find other top talent to bring GTA into a new era, but this will take time, and they can get things out in the meantime. The story of GTA IV, Map & other assets are already made, so this gives them a head start to put out games while they rediscover their Mojo to make GTA6 using new talent.
GTA Online is a Big Money Maker, it will make the GTA IV & ELFC remaster worth it because the remastered map will be used for both GTA IV & Online: LC (maybe slight map differences according to time period).
Why did they put so much effort into issuing cease and desists to OpenIV team for OpenIV's LCinV project (even though it used original game files, no piracy) if they weren't planning on doing something in this space themselves.
Cayo Perico aside (which is still quite small), Los Santos as the primary setting of GTA Online is still a bit stale after 7 years. They can't use 2013 Los Santos forever, surely. Not to mention that a new GTA release is already well overdue.
GTA IV Music Licensing speculation/hints
A little while back, a lot of music track licenses expired and they were pulled from the PC version, most notably Vladivostok FM was most affected with most songs removed. They put in some new tracks to replace it, which wasn't quite as good but it seemed like that was as good as it's going to get. But then they went ahead and relicensed the original tracks anyway so all the music is now restored again (about 16 months after being originally cut). Why go though all that expense of relicensing all that music if they aren't planning to capitalise on it in a big way?
Cayo Perico speculation/hints
Not much here directly, but I have played with it a little bit. The way that it's programmed is interesting. As far as I can tell, travel to the island is sharing a session with Free Mode rather than being a different game mode, which you can tell by seeing the player list stay the same as whoever is in the Freemode session you were in. There is no loading of a different game mode, it is just a cut scene. On PC you can even chat to people who are still in Los Santos. When you look at the map, you are located South-East of LS (just past USS Luxington), and if you move the mouse you can get locations of LS show up, it's just the map itself which is hidden. There is a glitch you can do to "free roam" the whole Island, or just go to the Beach Party standalone, it is clear that you are in Free Mode of an existing Los Santos based lobby. When I was glitched, I was able to take a Dinghy back to LS, LS was visible. about halfway there, the whole Cayo Perico just de-spawned similar to how the USS Luxington does, and also the weathenight cycle changed instantly too. When I was glitched but still on the Island, a whole bunch of functions were disabled like spawning cars, calling contacts, etc. What this shows me is that perhaps they are experimenting with how integration with Future GTA Maps will look like. Instead of loading a whole different game, or loading a different game mode, it could be one big Free Mode made up of all locations, the locations can not be directly accessed without triggering a cut scene, and the properties of how a Free Mode works can change depending on what location on the broader map you are in. One challenge I anticipate is that they wouldn't want GTA$ earned in LS to be transferred to a totally new GTA Online area. It is well known that a lot of it glitched and they'd want us to start getting rich again. They have also been experimented with holding separate currencies such as Arena Points or Casino Chips. I could imagine that they come up with a storyline where all your GTA$ Cash gets deposited into Maze Bank but then can't be withdrawn to cash or moved to another bank, and in LC you are forced to use a competing bank like the Bank of Liberty. Basically LS = only get Maze Bank, LC = only get Bank of Liberty. Cars/Planes etc. Can be not widely transferable (i.e. You MKII or Babushka holding a car has engine failure mid flight and crashes, or maybe you need to go to the Airport marker on food), and maybe some planes (i.e. Luxor) can enter on a visiting basis via. Cutscene of that vehicle but can't be saved at the destination into a personal hangar.
Final words
I hope this gives some good for thought. Keep speculating! At least until we get some solid info Here's to 2021.
Honestly I hope Nacon reads this, I've spent quite some time for this post.
Dear Nacon, Please read this.
The following list is a compilation of all the wish lists and features that TDU fans including me have said so far... would be bonkers if they really read this mate! These features are not in TDU2 but were available in TDU1 ... And we suggest to re-add them in TDU3 .
Immersive Dynamic Audio System : In TDU unlike TDU 2 you can hear the ambient audios when driving ... This makes the whole world of TDU bloody immersive !! While in TDU2 the ambient sounds stop playing when you drive your car faster than 45 KM/h or so . Comparing to TDU1 TDU2's audio has never been immersive and its Audio system worsened it. The only good thing in terms of the TDU2's Audio is the sound effects in the safe houses! TDU 1 > TDU2 in terms of Audio !
Thechillaxingsituation : Unlike The Crew game TDU is NOT an Adrenaline-Intense game ... This game should not be about intense jumps nor unrealistic stunts ... it would be pretty alien for TDU atmosphere if you guys add these too arcade stuff . TDU has never been a simulator and it should not be but don't make TDU3 a too childish arcade game IMO ... Getting points for ridiculous jumps and weird stunts doesn't fit TDU !!!!
Keyboard H-Gate + Clutch only for the cars that have manual gearbox in real life : TDU1 has "H-Gate and Clutch" option for Keyboard and Joystick users ... You had to use hacking/Key-mapping tools to get the gearing and using the clutch to work in TDU2 ... We don't want that . We want TDU3 to feature a clutch key just like TDU1
More detailed Audio Settings : Unlike TDU2 TDU1 had way more detailed audio settings system and I actually use all of them to make the TDU1 world more immersive !
MP3 and M3U support : TDU1 lets you add M3U files and playlists to your custom radio station! The custom radio station is useful and easier than playing a music in an external app !!
Longer & more populated tyre smoke : Unlike the shambles particle system of TDU2 , TDU1 has a better and kind of brilliant tyre smoke FX ... The tyre smoke last longer in the air and it just looks better in TDU1 !!!!
More options in Photography mode : Unlike TDU2 TDU1 has many more controls in the Photography mode ... You can add filters hide driver change date and weather... would be handy to recycle those for TDU3 !
Start button : In TDU ( unlike TDU2 ) you can start your car by pressing a key . This made the game a bit more realistic than TDU2 :]
The fast camera transition mode : In TDU 1 you can change the transition speed of the camera by holding the C ( Camera ) key I found it super handy :]
The additional camera modes : In TDU 1 there is a camera mode that changes its FOV based on the speed of your car. And I found myself using that camera mode a lot and missed it in TDU2. Would be fancy if you also add a Cinematic Camera mode ( just the like GTA's ) as well !
Hardcore mode / G-Metre : I am not a big fan of the hardcore mode of TDU but it made that old arcade physics system a bit challenging and refreshes the game after a while . Plus that game-play mode never interfered in Multiplayer ... !
Various weather options : TDU1 has more weather settings than TDU2 would be great to include more weather options like rain rainbows overcast semi-cloudy extra sunny stormy windy ... :]
Realistic road lines and road signs: You literally could use the road lanes and road signs in TDU1 unlike in TDU2 . not to mention that the road lanes of the roads of TDU1 actually have meanings !!!!
Floating leaves, newspaper and other particles : Unlike TDU2 You could see leaves and newspapers and leafs floating around . That feature is pretty fancy enough to add to TDU3 for more immersion :]
Ship sounds : In TDU We could hear sounds from ships
Radio off by turning the volume to zero : In TDU ( unlike TDU2 ) you could just turn off the radio if you set the radio vol to zero. TDU2 missed this feature !!!!
Real dead-end roads : The asphalt road of TDU2 is way unfinished than TDU1 and we don't want that for TDU3. For example in TDU2 you could drive to a deadend road where the asphalt suddenly goes from asphalt to literal nothing . You can add dirt or broken asphalt effect to the roads to make them more realistic !
Wind/Sound distortion : In TDU ( unlike TDU2 ) you can hear the wind / Sound distortion . Would be wicked to re-add this feature in TDU3
Faster UI : The UI system of TDU2 is too slow while TDU1 has a better UI system in terms of the transition speed !!!!
Windows affect audio sound : When closing / opening car windows in TDU1 the sound would change accordingly
The electricity lines movement : When it is windy the lines shake quickly in TDU1 !!!!
Realistic and way detailed car data sheets : The car data sheet of the car dealers and the garage is more detailed and informative than TDU2 making TDU1 a bit more serious driving game
Tachometer : I could easily tell which car is my favourite with that feature ! also I imagined engine oil change timing and stuff like that ... don't judge me lol!
Realistic gauges : Each of the cars in TDU1 has their own realistic gauge !!!!
Physics system : Last but not least I have to mention the physics system although they're gonna use a much better one anyway . TDU1 physics was ace if you compare it to the one for TDU2 !!!
So these were the quirks and features that were in TDU1 unlike TDU2 . And we think those must be in TDU3 too .
These features were later added to TDU2 and we think it is wicked to see them back in TDU3 !
On foot : Playing the character on foot for some scenes made the game more immersive!
Hairstylists : Going to a barbershop and modifying player's hairstyle I suggest to add more long hairstyle options as well as wigs !!!!
Face lifting : TDU1 and TDU2 both let you modify player's face however in TDU2 you can go to a clinic and it is wicked !!!
Various clothing items : In TDU2 there are more items to choose like hats and stuff . which is good to be frank !!!!
House Modification : There is a feature to customise the house to make'em feel more homie pretty neat . Definitely suggest to re-add this feature in TDU3 !
Weather forecast : You can switch on the TV to see the weather forecast was great and had good UI also !
Day/Night cycle : Although it is better than only-day cycle I'd say shorten the night cycle and have more daylight :]
Detailed house tour : In TDU1 there is a house tour feature but in TDU2 that is more detailed in Real Estate agencies !!!!
Casino : How would you be able to pretend you're rich but can't do what rich people do?! Casinos should be in TDU3 . The cut scenes should also be there !!!!
Rain : Rain effects in TDU2 are okay at least it is better than nothing!
Off Road : SUVs and offroad settings in TDU2 is a good idaea perhaps TDU3 would have it .
Timed missions : the one-time missions the ones that you can't retry later if you either miss them or do them are great to once again be in TDU3 . However I'd say add more variety so that they won't look repetitive !!!!
Road Exploration Score : The more you drive the more score you get which in return gives you ability to buy more items . That TDU2 idaea forces players to explore and learn the map :]
Landscape Exploration Score : There are landmarks that player can take a photo and get more exploration ( or "discovering" iirc ) score . This also makes players to be more familiar with Hawaii or Ibiza . Good stuff for TDU3 also !
Abandoned car parts : The "Barn find" feature is a great mini game for TDU2 TDU3 needs this for sure !
Ocean and beach with better graphics : The graphics of ocean in TDU2 has sea foam and depth in it the beaches are more detailed too !!!!
Sticker and livery shop : The decal / sticker / livery shop in TDU2 is good an updated version would also be good for TDU3 :]
Second handed car dealers : You've gotta use those cars to get the fancy Yacht quicker !
Retractable car roofs: Not sure why but when it was sunny in the game I had to remove the roof and vise-versa! Gotta love doing it again in TDU3 !
Blinkers : Using them did not affect the traffic cars in TDU2 but perhaps in TDU3 this also could be a thing ?!!!
Car Details : Gearing animation Wing and spoiler animation etc etc etc !!!!
Car damage : TDU1 did not have car damage TDU2 had fake damage, I'd expect TDU3 to have a better damage simulation . something like soft-body would be bloody wicked!!!!!
Car wash : car washes with more realistic characters and animation would be nice to have in TDU3 !!!!!
Fishes, those cats and the small details : TDU2 sometimes looked more immersive because of the smaller details that weren't in TDU1 . However I'm not sure if there're birbs flying in TDU2 TDU3 better have all these animals and some!!!!!
Detailed navy ships and buildings : Hawaii in TDU2 is simply more detailed than TDU1 . We expect the same for the next TDU3 and a TDU game without Honolulu is a like a Fast and Furious movie but without manual gearbox cars ! :]
So these were the quirks and features that were in TDU2 . And we think those have to be in TDU3 too .
Cheers mate ! :] - From the TDU community all around the world , and me here in the sunny Australia !
An extensive list of features I would like to see implemented into TC2 or any future titles.
This list will consist of the beginnings of an outstanding open-world racing game from many of the features I've conceptualized. I've always had a thought/fantasy in my head of taking some of the best features from many racing games and rolling them into one fantastic game. There have been so many quirks and great things across many racing games and even non-racing games that could be implemented into other racing games to improve upon games. I think some game developers and creative directors owe it to themselves to play many other racing games themselves to draw inspiration from other games and they should directly use polls in social media to see what people want the most, so resources can be allocated in that direction. I will refer to many games throughout this as I feel a lot of racing games (and other games in general) made over the last 15 years or so have features that could contribute to the concepts that would create a great game. Game abbreviations will include MC (Midnight Club), NFS (Need for Speed), TC (The Crew) FH (Forza Horizon), FM (Forza Motorsport), GT (Gran Turismo), GTA (Grand Theft Auto) and TDU (Test Drive Unlimited). This list will not be suggesting any locations, vehicle or part manufacturers directly unless something is used as an example, this is just features that could be incorporated upon a base game. Developers will obtain whatever licenses they can and I don't see this as a thing to extensively cover. An example is that we would all love to see Toyota, but obtaining their license recently has been difficult for many companies. One thing that I can't speak of as I have no personal use, is steering wheels. I'd like to hear some feedback on how to create the optimal steering wheel experience in a racing game. Physics: Driving physics control the entire driving experience of a racing game so these are ultimately the most important thing to get correct. There have been many games that have gotten so many things right with a mediocre or worse physics system that detracted from the experience so much that the legacy of the games it applies to are tarnished regardless of how many other things are done well, with TDU2 is a great example. Ideally, they would be on par with FH4. Some extent of arcade physics would be nice, but not to the extent of some of the Ghost produced NFS games to where there is some oddly conflicting attempt of two physics systems fighting each other to determine if you are attempting to drift or grip. There would be a difference in the feeling of drivetrains and the AWD wouldn't be dominant over RWD in paved road scenarios, tuning and efficient driving could make RWD better due to the car being lighter. Controller mappings/settings: I will continue to reiterate the ability to customize things to the user's liking should be the biggest priority in many categories. The ability to enable and disable vibration in the handles and triggers individually would be nice. It's good to have the choice setting of linearity and inner and outer dead zones. I will be using an Xbox controller for my ideal pre mapped settings. I think FH4 has the best control scheme, but could still use some improvement (and features). To maximize the inputs available, the photo mode should be accessed through the start/pause menu, rather than having them mapped to buttons that could be useful for other functions. The standard LT brake, RT accelerate, LS steering and RS camera (with the click of it being a 180 degree look back) are a very simple base scheme. LB to use the clutch, X and B should be downshift and upshift respectable, RB for the handbrake, A for nitrous, Y for rewind, LS click for the horn, the "select" button would be for interact/map when there's nothing to interact with, left d-pad would function the same way GTA5's would regarding the radio (including holding it + RS to select a specific station), down d-pad would function as FH4 does, where you can choose telemetry or a gps assistant, up d-pad could enlarge and extend the mini-map to give an idea of what is ahead. right d pad could pull up a list of mini functions, such as blinkers, headlights, windows, convertible roof, neon lighting, engine off, hydraulics, air bags, cruise control, etc. Map/Environment: The map can be a real place or a fictional place. Being able to visit a real place from the comfort of your home is nice, but visiting a fantasy land with no creative restrictions would be nice. Some really cool things that were imagined could happen because there is no need to resemble a real place. Day/night cycle with a weather cycle depending on which part of the map you are on, where snow can be on top of mountains. The map needs to be large, no smaller than FH4, ideally larger than the individual TDU2 maps with little to no exploration restrictions. I'd like to see a couple very long straightaways or near straightaways to allow cars to top out on speed. This could be combined with a highway loop system that can wrap around a large portion of the map. Beaches, bumpy terrain areas for intense offroading and of course tunnels for the sound of engines roaring through and echoing. A moderately large mountain would be cool for a hill climb and maybe somewhere to descend from the mountain with multiple consecutive hairpins from the mountain would be nice for drifting. I’d love for the map to have spots to evoke nostalgia for many of us that have played many racing games throughout the year, with an example being when I played TC1 for the first time and I was in LA, it brought back fond memories of MCLA. Even some areas do not have to be specific, but some areas on TC2 reminded me of the speed challenges on NFSPS. Having a/a few tuning shops across the map would be really cool, along with a few NPC cars completely RNG based on model and visual customization so that every time you visit the tuners, you see something new so the tuner feels less stale over time. Barn finds/TDU2 style wrecks. Having racing tracks incorporated into the map that are accessible while in free roam and used for races would be cool, like TC1/TC2, especially an oval track with an optional infield layout. Having a parking garage or two would be nice as you can do many things with them. I liked how there was one incorporated in MCLA and NMFSMW(2012) provided a good experience while in them. We should have a GTA5 style 48 minute irl day/night cycle with about 10 hours in game (20 minutes irl) of nighttime and 14 hours in game (28 minutes irl) of daytime to provide a balance most would find enjoyable. While viewing the full sized map in the menu, we should be able to zoom out a lot or zoom in to nearly street view, like TC2. Roads need to have believable lane width, unlike how the lanes have become wider and wider every FH installment. We should have some back roads that are very slim and have room to accommodate one car width covering both directions. Gas/petrol stations are nice to see as that is something that some games don't include enough. The planes flying in TC2 add to the immersiveness. Having an airport with a long airstrip is something that is seen as important. It was a place for people to frequently congregate in GTA4/FH2 and the lack of a nice, unobstructed airstrip in FH4 is seen as something that's a letdown. Real life traffic cars with several color options each to increase immersiveness, also cars represent surroundings (taxis in the city, utility vehicles in a rural area, etc). Having pedestrians on foot can also add into the immersive feeling, including them reacting to your presence by having dialogue and running away if you're being reckless. Some places will be in various stages of construction (similar to GTA) and over the course of updates they'll come further along and finish construction and some will become interactive spaces. Some places will also become the sights of demolition. Camera settings: Getting the right view and feel for cameras is important to giving you the most comfortable experience to get the feel for where your car is at and focus on surroundings in the way that is desired. Importantly, having bumper, hood, cockpit (with and without steering wheel) and chase cameras is a great start. There should also be an "action" camera with additional sense of speed, sensitivity towards turns, etc. Although this isn't a racing game, Rocket League inspired me to take a deeper dive into the thoughts of camera perspectives. Adjusting RL camera settings can assist your ability to be aware of surroundings and I'm sure the same would apply to actual racing games. Settings for RL that would be nice to apply to racing games would be the ability to turn on or off camera shake upon collisions, the FOV, distance of the camera away from the car (and distance gain relative to speed, if desired), camera height in relativity to the vehicle (could be important with SUVs/trucks) and angle at which the camera points towards the ground/sky. I'd like to see settings to turn vignetting and motion blur from a 0-100% scale. This effect is often used to create a sense of speed, but is often found to be disruptive towards viewing surroundings and braking zones. As I feel this would pertain to the player's perception/camera adjustment, I think the cockpit views should contain an adjustable seat, such as TDU1. Keeping something like the drift camera for cockpit views, along with the settings they have related to it in FH4 would be nice. User interface/HUD: I think being consistent to many other racing games would be good in many ways. Ideally, the ability to adjust which corner things are in would be the best, but if the customization wasn't an option, this is how I think it should be. Having the speedometetachometeodometer in the bottom right would be nice, along with the ability to display it in an analog or digital format, such as FH4. The map should be on the bottom left and should have two levels of details for options; one being a minimalist design with no border that gradually fades out (similar to Grid Autosport's track layout minimap, mixed with the off road icon detail of FH4). The second map option should be similar to a mixture of NFS Heat and TDU1 in terms of borders on the mini-map and detail to show side roads/terrains. The ability to adjust the map rotating or not would be nice. We should also be able to see our recent driving path in a thin line on the map, such as TDU2. The race position should be in the top right and all other race details (total time in race and sprint race % or lap count, best and previous lap) should be in the top left. Another thing that could add into the immersion would be changing the opacity of the HUD, from 0-100% so you could make it mostly transparent, but visible enough to be useful if that is what is desired. Having an odometer built into the HUD would be nice as well. Games such as TC2 have the speedometer and mini-map flipped from the standard positions and it is a minor grievance. The speedometers in non-cockpit views should be able to resemble the car's actual speedometer as seen in TDU and NFS Shift. We should be able to filter the map well when in that menu, similar to FH4. Event Types: Blueprints (FH3), random events where you can taxi or tail someone (TDU2), Drag races with proper street light, track light or an NPC human signaling in the middle of the road making the countdown (also with burnouts like NFSPS), score based drift racing, sprint races, circuit races, speed trap races (NFSMW), pink slip and money wager races (MCLA), unordered races (MC3), rivals (FH3/4), true street races and official sanctioned races (FH3/4 and NFSH) and end the game with a goliath type of race (FH3/4). Off road racing in the form of sprints and circuits would be nice. Bringing over speed traps, speed zones, drift zones and danger signs/long jumps from FH4/NFSH would be nice. Removing the potential disruption of traffic would be nice by ghosting vehicles in these situations, as FH4 has done. A route creator along the lines of MCLA/FH4 would be nice with the ability to add/remove some objects like barriers and ramps. The TDU2 style limited time events would be cool. Maybe a certain event would be worth double money or level progression. Some of the limited time races would utilize the places being constructed and demolished. Online Play: Free roam such as TC2/FH4 in terms of grouping with friends is ideal, but have the option to have private lobbies (up to as many players as the developers can make work) and the ability to search for public free roam lobbies based on preferences of drifting, car meets, cruising, etc. Free roamers should be able to disable or enable collisions with random players not in their group. Lacking the collisions removes some of the immersiveness and the ghosted appearance ruins things such as drifting tandems and trains with random players. Something similar to Forzathon from FH4 could help players unite and group together and optionally have something to do in the lobby every hour. Ranked and unranked playlist organization like FH4, but make completely separate on and off road playlists for online along with a voting system for the class of racing and location. Online race collision penalties and ghosting similar to FH4. Free roam quick 1v1 wager races against other players in cruises. We should have the option to play through the campaign in a cooperative fashion, similar to FH4/TC2. Cross play would be nice to implement. Driving Features: Race Driver Grid style rewinds as they're probably the smoothest working rewinds compared to the segmented rewind system in other racing titles. TC2 back on track compared to FH4 weird reset, FRIM (TDU2)/skill chain (FH1-4) in freemode to reward in small XP/money. The ability to enable settings on a 0-100% slider would be nice as well as a detailed damage model. The ability to render in more tire smoke than other games would be nice. I'm aware it requires a lot of system resources, but I would like to see how far it could be pushed on next generation consoles/and always-improving top of the line PCs. Using the car with manual transmission would allow us to put the car in neutral. Some vehicles with visible engines/engine components have a noticeable shake while idle, so seeing that would be nice. Being able to enable/disable fuel management (both for cruising/racing) would be nice, along with gas/petrol stations to refill the fuel and nitrous (just a drive-thru required). Slipstreaming other cars will make your car faster, not give nitrous like NFS. Nitrous should slowly regenerate like NFSMW2005, where there is also a slight delay for it to begin regenerating again, unlike TC2 where it begins regenerating immediately. Difficulty settings to lower driving assistance, if desired. Wipers operating along with rain buildup would clearly add some realism. Reversing your car would add a backup camera in place of the infotainment system displaying the map until you've left the reverse gear. While driving in the cockpit, the wheel needs to be given a 900ish degree rotation from lock to lock to add into the realistic feeling of being in a car. Non-Driving Features: Players should be able to enter their homes similar to GTA5 and TDU2 and they should be able to have a vast array of customization for their house and a trophy room, which can be earned from high tier sanctioned races/tournaments (inspired by NFL 2K5/Auto Modellista), photos taken in game can be framed and displayed around the house (TDU2) and multiple garages and garage types like TDU/GTA along with the ability to interact with and move cars around different garages and spaces within the garages. The ability to test drive any car at any level of progression and visit themed new dealerships and used dealerships would be cool (TDU/TC). Character customization would be nice to control the appearance of your character, such as a plastic surgeon and clothing stores. The ability to control blinkers, headlights, windows, convertible tops/sunroofs, neon lighting, turning the engine off, operating hydraulics and adjusting air bags. Having a large variety of standard and gimmick horns. Using horns to control police lights to flash rapidly upon the horn being pressed, along with the siren remaining operating upon letting go of the horn. The internal navigation/infotainment screens of cars show the in game map/gps (TDU2). We could see the drone from FH4 return as it’s a good way to view tricky areas and get a live view of other players without obstructing them. Wheelspins (FH4) exist, but guarantee car or money and have the potential of earning clothes as a side bonus. We could maybe have a casino (similar to TDU2/GTA5) with various attractions, such as slots, a daily wheelspin for a rotating car weekly, the ability to bet on real life PvP races that the large room would randomly put you into spectate and other casino based activities. Our character shouldn't be mute throughout the story, we should be given a few voice choices for a little more personality for our character (similar to how Saints Row operates its voices). Car clubs would be cool, similar to FH3, along with leaderboards based on the clubs. Oil changes at the performance shops and car washes would be nice. Garages/dealerships and tuning shops will have various ambient noises (hydraulic lifts, airsaws, torches, metal slamming, etc.) and subtle music. Photo mode: This deserves its own category and also can help a company market the game by users sharing their photos if the mode allows such great photos people will be prone to sharing them. We should have a filtetime of day/weather system like TC2. The focusing and motion blur of FH4 is well executed. We should be able to zoom in and out (adjust focal length) without it altering our field of view. We should be able to apply different lens effects, such as fisheye, rectilinear, etc. The camera should have the ability to position freely, in terms of raise, lower, tilt, rotate, etc. The maximum height for the camera needs to be much higher than FH4. The camera should have the potential to be on a gimbal, so it can remain even while a car is going up and down a hill to emphasize how drastic the ascent or descent is. All these features on top of standard stuff such as exposure, saturation, etc. Also, the live rewind and fast forward again option in TC2 is amazing. It’s easy to miss that perfect single frame shot on other games, but the ability to do that solves it. Soundtrack: It needs to be eclectic with hip-hop, rock and electronic (maybe 2 of each) like modern and classic hip-hop and rock and electronic can be split between chill and hype. Maybe we can get pop, country and classical stations? Have a mix of some lesser known songs and also some billboard topping hits. Don't have stations where many of their songs sound very similar. Something great that could be added could be Spotify integration if any company can figure it out/contract Spotify. Groove integration was a good idea on FH, but Groove wasn't successful. Having the ability to fully mute all music sounds would also be nice (unlike FH4). Vehicles: As I said, I will not be going over brands, but I would like to see a variety of entry level cars, sports cars, super cars, hyper cars and full on race cars. Concept cars would be great, as they are seen in limited fashion on most open world titles. I'd like trucks and SUVs as well for off roading and to maintain a wide variety of vehicles on par with FH4. I’d also like to see a vehicle categorization similar to FH4 (i.e. Hypercars, classic muscle, etc.). While I'd like to see a variety of vehicle types, I'd still prefer to see quality over quantity. Each vehicle needs to be replicated well and many should have extensive customization. We should be able to favorite cars and also choose a random car (totally random or random from favorites for whatever vehicles are applicable to the given event or freeroam. We should be able to tag vehicles as designed for off-road, wet driving, drifting, drag, etc. These will just be two examples, but we should be able to provide donor cars to speciality shops and convert them into improved, rarer editions. Two conversions that I'll reference would be converting a Porsche Carrera GT into a Gemballa Mirage GT or a Mustang GT into a Saleen S302. A growing variety of vehicles over the course of time, similar to FH4 and TC2. Visual Customization: No visual adjustments will relate to performance gains or losses (i.e. camber, wheel swaps/sizes, bodykits, etc.) other than you will need to equip some form of spoilewing to adjust rear downforce. We should be able to set wheels smaller than stock, as well as larger. Track width should be an option with multiple sliders (like NFS2015). We should be given manufacturer options for paint, wheels and interior choices, etc. (TDU2/TC2). We should be able to save paint colors (MCLA), instead of just having them in recents and eventually disappear (FH). We should be able to adjust trim as chrome, titanium, gold, black, etc. (MC3) The paint options of NFS Heat and MCLA would be nice, such as gloss, metallic flake with size options, carbon fiber varieties, chrome, matte, satin, fading from left to right as well as top to bottom and the ability to add multiple colors in a color shifting paint job (MC3), colored nitrous (MC3/NFSH), colored tire smoke (GTA5/NFSH) and backfire (NFSH), tire design (MCLA/NFSH), wide body kits (both from manufacturers and developer designed), bumpers, spoilers/wings, skirts, mirrors and fenders (non real life brands can autosculpt like NFSC). Neon colors designs and patterns (TC2/NFSH), hydraulics (MCLA) and airbags (MCLA/NFSH) Brake calipers should be able to be from brands (MCLA/NFSH) or painted (TC2). Interior parts such as steering wheels and seats (MCLA), along with materials, alcantara, suede, leather, plastic, carbon fiber, chrome, etc. (TC2). We should be able to chop the roofs of some vehicles (MC3). Cars have individual licence plates and can get multiple states/countries given they fit the spacing allocated on each vehicle for them (MCLA) Tinted headlight and taillight housings are great options along with light bulb temperatures. Although it isn’t the taste of many people, we should be able to do all kinds of unique styles, such as monster truck (or at least an extreme lift), donk, bosozoku and even NHRA style drag body modifications (with optional wheelie bar) for some of the vehicles you would see them on in real life, but modifications this drastic will impact performance and vehicle hit box/collision physics. Vinyls on widows should be a thing with the ability to make vinyls able to utilize different paint materials (NFSH). FH4 has the numerical system to mirror and scale things fairly well. I’d like to keep the placement system of FH4. Also, the FH4 marketplace to download tunes and designs is the best I've seen, so that can be duplicated. As this will blanket all of the above, some customization parts should be recommended by a popular magazine or website. MC3 did this with Dub and created a fantastic game with a lasting legacy and many of the style options were relevant when the game was released and for a while after. We should be able to adjust tire width and profile, similar to MCLA. The ability to paint engine bays and accent parts would be nice, similar to NFS UG2. Custom exhaust tips/mufflers would be something nice that many other games have incorporated. Performance Customization and Tuning: PI system like Forza with classes (but actively tuned for balance), different turbos for rpm ranges/turbo lag, supercharger. We should have different tire compounds, even being able to set for front/rear separately. As mentioned earlier, a RWD car that is tuned well and driven well should have the potential to beat an AWD vehicle due to it being lighter. Keeping the tuning settings of what you can adjust would be ideal. We should have the ability to combine the live tuning of NFSH, but enhance it while at a test track (with an off road area in the middle) connected to the tuning shop. You can isolate many tuning options and slide them around while hot lapping. I’d like the ability to run fat rear drag tires, unlike FH4 where it’s just a tire compound. Audio: This is something that will be very important to many, so great sounds like the noise of turbos on NFS2015 and raw engine noises of FH2 and other games held to a high standard will be important to nail. Exhaust tuning from NFSH was nice, but I would like to see a little more of a difference in the sound with this idea further improved. Getting the proper transmission noises can be useful for cars on top of just the engine noise. Tires skidding is nice noise to get correct for realism as well. Having nice ambient sounds will also be important for immersiveness, such as birds chirping, waves washing up on the beach, wind noises and great echo sounds for traveling through tunnels or densely surrounded areas, such as down a row of highrise buildings). Other than making a car sound how it sounds and making realistic sounds for the environment, there is not much more to be said. It's a moderately limited description, but still something that is pivotal. Story/post launch content: I would like to see a sense of progression built up throughout the game by starting in a low end car as someone who freshly arrived in the are the map takes place in (MCLA), maybe the antagonist could be someone who scammed you in a previous city or dismissed your talent at the beginning of the game. For me, the outright story isn't too important, but can contribute to how much you will enjoy a racing game. Any DLC map expansion needs to be seamless and not require a separate load in, similar to Burnout Paradise Big Surf Island bridge or (MCLA South Central expansion) and unlike FH4 Fortune Island. The 1000 Club was a great thing that occurred on FH1 that would be nice to bring reason to use every car and for the 100%ers to have something else to chase. Police are something that hasn't been done extremely well in a racing only game in a very long time, in my opinion. I would ideally focus on everything else before attempting to add police in. If they were added in, something along the lines of NFSMW (2005) would be nice, but with higher stakes. We should have an end-game hero car, similar to the M3 GTR from NFSMW, but make it a car that isn't already iconic from another game, movie or real life racing, as people wouldn't think of the hero car associated to this hypothetical game, but related to whatever it was previously iconic in, as whatever work that went into making it that car would go to waste as people would want to overwrite that design. Alongside the hero car, we should also have a couple cars that are unique variations of pre-existing cars (Dub Edition cars of MCLA) for other special events (MCLA hard tournaments/FH3 street race bosses). The post-launch support needs to be good, unlike NFSH. Adding cars monthly would be a great start, along with any necessary QoL updates. Sorry for any formatting or grammatical issues. I’d like to hear any additional features to add into racing games from the feedback of other people or changes that they would prefer. Also, if there are any ideas in here that others would like to emphasize. Any of this content is free for content creators to recycle if that is desired. I’d like to see some of these ideas be passed around and heard to developers on what could be improved upon. Many games have great ideas and I’d like to see them build off of each other’s greatness.
An extensive list of features I would like to see implemented in the next Forza Horizon or potentially added to FH4 as it is still receiving support.
GTA Online just got a boost in new players due to the free giveaway at Epic Games, myself included. After playing and doing some research online I decided to write this brief no-nonsense "tl;dr" list of tips, sadly not included in the game itself, for my friends. As it got larger and more thorough I decided to post it publicly - hope it helps! (June 2020; PC version 1.50, mostly applies to console too)
The order of tips is simple to technical, meaning arguably the most important stuff is near the end.

[ 1. Gameplay ]
Go to the Casino every 24 hours to spin the Lucky Wheel. Free and easy rewards.
Complete your Daily Objectives for extra cash (found in the Interaction Menu, "M" key by default).
Max Health increases significantly with every rank you gain until 100. Don't expect to beat a veteran player of similar skill or have an easy time in end-game combat missions early on.
Strength increases through fistfights (NOT melee weapon fights or kicking vehicles, contrary to claims in other guides) and sports minigames. It's an important stat because of damage resistance. Best trained either by beating up pedestrians frequently or powerleveled using the "Blow Up III" mission (which is easy and prevents you getting a Wanted level) while beating up Paramedics (who take more hits than pedestrians) in front of any hospital (where they respawn in large groups). Takes 1.5-2 hours to go from 10 to 100 this way.
The other stats will level up naturally as you play.
If you run missions, always follow the temporary bonus rates. For example, Martin Madrazzo's missions gave 2x RP (XP) and cash rewards when I started so I ran those on repeat, with the added advantage of knowing them inside out. This is great for leveling, especially on Hard difficulty, though there are better cash options described below.
If you have the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack (CE from here on) included in the Epic Games giveaway, "buy" the free stuff ASAP. You'll find it in the Escape > Online menu.
The Bounty Hunter and Treasure Hunt activities (received through in-game e-mails) both give you a weapon: An axe with rage ability and a revolver respectively, plus $250k each after completing a quick challenge.
A similar but unmarked activity is the LS Slasher for another 250k and revolver, though you'll want a guide to hunt it down (thanks to shoryuXE10).
Playing with crew members increases mission rewards by 10%. Playing while in a business (CEO/Associates for example) gives minor RP rewards if you're nearby.
It's possible to create a "solo public" session, as explained here. This can also occur randomly, which may either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're doing (thanks to gargamel999).
[ 2. Equipment]
Your weapon wheel will become a mess and the game will keep equipping the wrong weapon constantly. To solve this you can purchase a Weapons Locker for various player-owned Businesses, storing what you don't use (175k for Bunker is cheapest as far as I'm aware). Merely dropping crappy weapons only works temporarily.
Get a bulletproof helmet ASAP at a clothing store, ideally a "Combat Helmet with Four Goggles" as this includes Thermal Vision (costs 80-100k). Both versions will increase the amount of headshots you can survive from 0 to 2, or 0 to 1 if the enemy uses a Heavy Sniper.
"Cosmetic body armor" bought in clothing stores doesn't add any protection except during specific Heists. Only "Body Armor" bought at Ammu-Nation or during the Job start/end screens does.
Get a suppressor ASAP for stealth Missions/Heists/Deathmatches, ideally on a Sniper and an (accurate) Assault Rifle. Missed shots and corpses can still alert the enemy.
Unless your aim is amazing, get an Assault Shotgun ASAP. Also very good for blindfiring around cover if low on health.
Get a Homing Launcher ASAP to take down moving vehicles, especially aircraft. You'll need to lead the target to ensure a hit, meaning "aim where the vehicle is going to be", or in some cases directly behind the vehicle so that the missile "slings" around to hit the rear.
The Mini SMG is an excellent drive-by weapon due to its high fire rate, allowing you to headshot enemies in vehicles or pop tires more reliably. A similar option is the AP pistol with slightly lower fire rate but significantly higher damage.
A very popular and cheap vehicle is the Armored Kuruma. While it can't withstand explosives like the more expensive armored vehicles can, it'll protect you extremely well from bullets without sacrificing much speed. An ideal mission and heisting vehicle (bought from southernsanandreassuperautos).
[ 3. Business ] Once you have competent equipment, consider investing your cash into a (single) Business to earn more cash later. Note that most of my info on this comes from other guides:
Ideally buy locations close together, centrally on the map and well-connected via roads/highways.
Most importantly, choose something you'll enjoy! If you don't like driving, don't get Import/Export.
The Office with Vehicle Warehouse creates the most profitable solo activity in the game, namely Import/Export (only sell "Top End" cars!). La Mesa, the cheapest warehouse, is often recommended. Cargo Warehouse is also a good option but requires friends to run efficiently.
The Bunker is one you'll want eventually due to research (new ammo types, special vehicles etc), though early on it's more interesting as a source of semi-passive income which you can run solo (if you only sell a partial batch of product, also removing the need for the Security upgrade) or with friends (full batch).
The Motorcycle Club with Cocaine, Meth and Counterfeit businesses for semi-passive income if you have a few friends to help you sell the goods every few hours. Cocaine can potentially be done solo with partial batches as well. Interestingly the Clubhouse that comes free with CE is the best one according to most guides.
Facilities, Nightclubs and Arcades are better later on so I'll leave those for now.
Arena Wars is a very interesting vehicular onslaught-type game mode, and its garage happens to be the best in the game for customization. You'll need to buy this to start upgrading vehicles to use in the Arena, but you can also try the mode without.
[ 4. Settings ] First the important stuff:
"Vehicle Camera Height" should be set to "High" so you can see what's in front of you past the first car or hill.
Tweak graphics for a smooth framerate. Stutter during a shootout can get you and your teammates killed.
Since Online mode blasts you with constant phone alerts, turn those off.
If you use first person mode in combat it's probably best to still have cover in third person so you can see past whatever you're hiding behind; "First Person Third Person Cover" to "On".
If you play Online exclusively you could disable the Landing Page and have GTA boot straight into Online, allowing the game to load while you do something else. However, first booting into Story mode and then switching to Online is reported to be faster (thanks to gargamel999).
The default keybinds are poor. Here are my recommended changes:
This game doesn't allow you to leave functions unbound, so firstly rebind those you never use to keys out of your hand's reach. On my keyboard these are -, =, [, ], ;, ', \, ,, ., /, O, P, K, L etc. Possible functions include character select to free up the Alt key; recording for F1-F3; next/previous radio station for scroll down in vehicles if you use Q instead, or play without in-game music etc.
Make "Interaction menu" easily accessible - I use F1.
Make "Toggle Helmet Visor" easily accessible if you like thermal goggles - I use Left Alt.
Make your favorite weapon categories easily accessible - I use 1 for Shotgun, 2 for Assault Rifle, 3 for Sniper Rifle, 4 Heavy Weapon, 5 Special Weapon.
You'll likely want to tweak the Aircraft controls in-depth. How you prefer them is entirely up to you. In flight, Leftclick to enable or disable mouse controls (set the default control type in the settings menu). I personally use Shift for acceleration, Control for deceleration, W/A for pitch up/down, A/D for yaw, Q/E for roll and the mouse for pitch/yaw in case I need it (optimized for helis). Better yet, use a controller as that's what the game was optimized for.
Optionally lower auto-center on Aircraft to avoid twitchy behavior.
Also tweak the mouse settings. You've got Sensitivity, Acceleration and "Fine Aim" to toy with.
The "Online" > "Options" menu:
Set "Remain Host after Next Job Vote Screen" to "On" if you know what type of job you want (including difficulty and team size).
Set "Matchmaking" to "Closed" if you play with friends often, else the game will auto-invite from your session. Alternatively play in an invite-only session.
[ 5. Troubleshooting ] This section is only useful if the game is malfunctioning somehow (which sadly is very common):
If the load times are ridiculously long despite having a good PC, the network ports used by the game are likely getting firewalled by your router. You'll need to set up port forwarding on the router to fix this (1990's called, they want their dev team back). Google/DuckDuckGo "port forwarding" to find many excellent guides, combined with this official Rockstar page for the port numbers.
If that's not enough or someone else on your network wants to play the game along with you, you may have to set up a "DMZ" or "De-Militarized Zone". IMPORTANT: This is HIGHLY unsafe. Any douche script kiddie will be able to infiltrate your network, so only do this if you know what you're exposing yourself to or have nothing to protect (like bank information/passwords). Again, Google/DuckDuckGo this if interested.
If the game crashes frequently including during single player, try lowering the graphics options - particularly the VRAM usage shown in the graphics menu. The game amateurishly self-terminates when certain limits are exceeded.
If that doesn't help, UPDATE YOUR GRAPHICS DRIVER. Often this is lazy general advice which rarely helps, but GTA5 has actually had major driver-specific issues (notably the d3d.somethingsomething error).
Lastly, and I had nowhere else to put this: You can currently get a free million and Pete's Arcade using an Amazon/Twitch Prime temporary offer. NOTE that it's set up so that although you can get the whole thing for free, it comes with automatic renewal for the subscription at 3 bucks a month. You can get rid of this either on the Twitch page or by contacting Amazon (chat) support. Edit: Fill the arcade with the free games to get $3600 per "day" (48 mins). Optionally add the 90k game in the empty slots to raise this to the $5000 max (1400 more). You'll recoup the investment in: 90/1.4=64 "days" or 51.42 real-time hours.
P.S. If any veteran players have more tips to share in the comments I'd appreciate it.
